Tell Your Story: A case of Guardianship was made for my elderly father, after the person bringing the claim kidnapped my father John.
Lawyers would not allow me ( his executix) and durable power of attourney, to speak with him. The lawyer that brought the case to court was someone claiming to represent my father. I fought the case with my fathers actaul attourneys.
The case was decided and guardianship split between myself ( the financial careguardian) and my brother who kidnapped him ( the personal care guardian) My brother is known to have drug abuse problems and anger management issues.( I have an active order of protection against him.)
As a result my father's health suffered - he had 2 major strokes. I was not allowed to see my own father as he was taken out of the county until he had the strokes and was a vegetable in the hospital.
In the mean time, EDWIN KASSOFF ( judge) determined that I was to pay the legal fees out of my own pocket for protecting my father. The lawyers all got paid some hefty sums.
Now I am waiting three years for the case to be closed from the final accounting and to recover escrowed monies.
Bottom line,my father is dead from neglect, I paid out tens of thousands of dollars, a family was destroyed and the case is not closed.
